Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the main purpose of the Palanhar Yojana?
The primary goal is to provide financial support to caregivers (relatives or acquaintances) to raise orphaned and destitute children in a family environment, rather than in an institution, ensuring their education and well-being.
What happens if a child stops going to school?
Continuous school/anganwadi attendance is mandatory. If a child drops out, the financial assistance under the scheme will be discontinued. Annual verification of school enrollment is required.
Is the ₹2,000 annual grant given for every child?
No. This additional annual grant for clothes, books, etc., is provided for most categories but is specifically excluded for children of widows and those in "Nata" marriages.
How do I apply for the scheme?
You can apply online through the official SJED Rajasthan portal or via an e-Mitra kiosk. An offline application can also be submitted to the Departmental District Officer (urban) or the concerned Development Officer (rural).
How can I check my application or payment status?
You can check both application and payment status online on the Palanhar Portal (palanhaar.rajasthan.gov.in) using your Application ID, Bhamashah number, or Jan-Aadhaar ID.
What is annual verification (Varshik Satyapan)?
Annual verification is a mandatory process where the caregiver must submit the child's current academic year certificate to the portal via e-Mitra. This proves the child is still studying and ensures the benefits continue.
Are the benefit amounts different for orphaned children versus other categories?
Yes. The financial assistance is higher for children in the "Orphan" category (₹1500/₹2500 per month) compared to other categories like children of widows or disabled parents (₹750/₹1500 per month).
